Terms of Service
Who provides the service
Subglish is provided by FOP Khilinska Olha Viktorivna, an individual entrepreneur registered in Ukraine (“we”). These terms apply to every Subglish language site and to the PRO subscription, and by using Subglish you accept them. Contact: [email protected].
The service
Subglish turns YouTube videos into language practice: it shows interactive subtitles over the video, translates the words in them and keeps the words you choose in a personal dictionary that you review with spaced repetition. The FREE plan limits the words shown per video, the size of the dictionary and the reminder periods. PRO removes these limits and adds AI translations and examples and export of the dictionary to Anki. What each plan includes is shown on the home page.
Your account
You sign in with your Google account, and your Subglish account is tied to it. One PRO subscription unlocks PRO on every Subglish language site where you sign in with the same Google account. Keep that Google account secure: what is done under your sign-in is treated as done by you. If you are not old enough to accept these terms where you live, a parent or guardian must accept them for you.
Subscription and payment
PRO is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: Paddle accepts the payment, issues the invoice and handles refunds and billing questions. Your first subscription starts with a 7-day free trial; a Google account gets the trial once, and Paddle asks for a payment method when it starts. If you do not cancel during the trial, the first charge is made when it ends. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. Current prices are shown on the site and in the payment form, which also shows the tax for your country. Paddle does not accept payments from some countries and regions, so PRO cannot be bought from them.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time: in your account settings with “Manage subscription”, through the link in any email from Paddle, or by writing to [email protected]. After you cancel, PRO stays active until the end of the current paid period or free trial, and you are not charged again. If you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged at all. If you want to delete your Subglish account, cancel the subscription first.
YouTube videos and translations
Videos play in YouTube’s official embedded player and remain the content of their owners; watching them is also subject to YouTube’s terms. Subglish does not let you download videos, audio or subtitle files. Translations, including AI translations and examples, are produced automatically and can contain mistakes: Subglish is a tool for learning, not a professional translation service. The words you save are yours, and PRO lets you export them.
Acceptable use
Do not use Subglish to break the law or anyone’s rights. Do not access it with bots or scripts in bulk, do not try to bypass plan limits or the security of the service, and do not share or resell your PRO access. We may suspend or close an account that does any of this; you can dispute that by writing to [email protected].
Liability
Subglish is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law in your country gives you and that cannot be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine, except where the consumer law of the country you live in gives you protection that cannot be waived. Payment for PRO is governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We announce material changes in advance, by email or on the site, before they take effect. If you keep using Subglish after that, you accept the updated terms.
